My approach to difficult experiences is to first let everything be as it is. As we bring curiosity and gentleness to it, together we can then find a way through it. This can include identifying effective coping strategies, developing self-awareness, changing maladaptive thoughts, taking ownership, and bringing compassion to our wounded parts. Your safety and trust in therapy are my priority, for they are essential for achieving transformation.
I began my work in the mental health field in 2001, writing legal reports that worked to protect children from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Four years later, I returned to school for a Master’s degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
The education that I received at Pacifica was rooted in depth psychology – a psychological perspective that includes the unconscious mind and other facets of being human. My experience at Pacifica also gave me a framework for understanding my own transcendent experiences with dreams, the imagination, and meditation.
