Ventura Community Counseling (VCC) offers Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, therapy for Children and Adolescents, and Group Therapy.
If you’ve never been to a therapist before, you might feel intimidated at first. You might feel nervous, uncomfortable, or scared. Some people believe that a therapist is going to judge them, or worse, be able to see just how bad everything really is. Yet, those fears typically melt away when a person begins to get know their therapist. Therapists are compassionate mental health professionals, who are listening and responding to you. In fact, they often are following your lead, perhaps asking questions when it’s relevant. Many therapists will ask more questions in the beginning to get to know more about what you’re going through. They are there to provide support, kindness, and help you see what’s going well and what your strengths are.
